What to Expect
Every dentist today is confronted with craniomandibular dysfunctions (CMD) and bruxism in their daily routine. Diagnostics are difficult because the underlying functional disorders cannot be seen.
CMD screening is therefore indispensable in practice. If the findings are positive, clinical functional analysis and manual structural analysis follow. These examination techniques uncover the dysfunctions and help to understand the connections.
Systematic Diagnostics
The CMD training explains the techniques from the ground up and explains the background of the individual medical history questions and findings up to the required structured diagnosis.
PD Dr. M. Ahlers teaches in this course the system he developed himself, including efficient implementation in digital practice.

Spezialist für Funktionsdiagnostik und -therapie (DGFDT)
PD Dr. M. Oliver Ahlers is one of the most distinguished experts in dental functional diagnostics and therapy. After years of leading the corresponding consultation at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), he founded the CMD-Centrum Hamburg-Eppendorf, the first specialized practice for diagnostics and therapy with direct connection to physiotherapy and orthopedics.
In parallel, as a faculty member, he continues to teach the subject at UKE and publishes his own studies and their implementation in software for diagnostics and practice.
