    Frequently asked questions

How often must the radiation protection expertise be updated?

At least every five years, by a course or CE measure recognised by the competent body (§ 48(1) StrlSchV). The proof must be shown to the competent body on request.

Does this apply to dental assistants (ZFA)?

Yes for the knowledge (Kenntnisse) in radiation protection: § 49(3) StrlSchV applies § 48 accordingly, so it is also updated at least every five years.

How is the due date calculated?

Five years after the date of the last update on the certificate. If that date was 29 February, the tool uses 28 February. Plan the course before that date; the competent chamber or authority decides.
